Professor Dr. Ali Abdul Aziz Al-Shawi, President of Al-Nahrain University, received in his office a delegation from the Military Industrialization Authority, in the presence of Professor Dr. Omar Farouq Abdul Rasheed, Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Jumaa Salman Chiad , Dean of the College of Engineering, Professor Dr. Hekmat Najim Abdullah, Dean of the College of Information Engineering, Assistant Professor Dr. Hassan Al-Moussawi, Head of Relations and Cultural Affairs at the Presidency of Al-Nahrain University. The meeting was held to enhance joint cooperation between the university's colleges and the Military Industrialization Authority, as the latter seeks to invest scientific and engineering energies in the university in order to enhance and develop military industries, in line with the development taking place in this field globally. Professor Dr. Juma Salman Chiad , Dean of the College of Engineering, stressed in a speech on the sidelines of the meeting the importance of this cooperation, especially the vital role that universities can play in supporting and developing the industrial sector, in general, and the military sector in particular, through research, development and innovation. This visit came within the framework of the scientific cooperation agreement signed between the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, represented by Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and the Military Industrialization Authority, represented by Engneer Mustafa Ati Hassan, Chairman of the Military Industrialization Authority. The representative of the Military Industrialization Authority expressed his appreciation for the university and its scientific and engineering capabilities, expressing his hope that this cooperation would contribute to achieving tangible progress in the field of military industries. He also pointed out that cooperation with academic institutions is a fundamental pillar in developing industrial capabilities and innovation, which enhances the country's position in this vital field. The meeting also included discussing many basic axes, including organizing joint workshops and exchanging scientific visits. In addition to opening up areas of training and development for engineering cadres in the Military Industrialization Authority. As well as cooperation in the field of advanced research projects, which contribute to improving performance and increasing efficiency in military industries.
