The Department of Biomedical Engineering at the College of Engineering, Al-Nahrain University, received the Academic Accreditation Committee under theThe Department of Biomedical Engineering at the College of Engineering, Al-Nahrain University, received the Academic Accreditation Committee under the direct supervision of the President of Al-Nahrain University, Professor Dr. Ali Abdulaziz Al-Shawi, and the Dean of the College of Engineering, Professor Dr. Iyad Murad Takhakh. This visit comes within the framework of continuous efforts to enhance academic standards and achieve comprehensive quality assurance. The committee consisted of the following respected members:

2. Prof. Dr. Muadh Abdulwahid Theeb – College of Engineering, Al-Mustansiriya University (Member)
3. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Abdul-Sahib Hashim – University of Information Technology and Communications (Member)
4. Prof. Dr. Jalal Mohammed Jalil – University of Technology (Auditor)
5. Ziad Suleiman Mohammed Khalid – Head of the Accreditation Council (Supervisor)
6. Omar Ahmed Abbas – Supervisory Authority, Member of the Accreditation Council (Representative of the Accreditation Department)

The purpose of the visit was to review the current status of the department and evaluate its academic programs according to approved standards.

The visit took place in the presence of the respected Dean of the College of Engineering, assistant deans, the Head of the Biomedical Engineering Department, as well as a number of faculty members and staff. The committee conducted a comprehensive tour of the department, including classrooms and laboratories, to assess the available resources and infrastructure supporting the educational process.

The committee also reviewed the department’s academic accreditation files, which included course descriptions, learning outcomes, continuous improvement plans, as well as mechanisms for academic performance evaluation and quality assurance. Meetings were held with faculty members and students to discuss ways of developing the academic program and improving the quality of graduates in line with labor market requirements.

The committee provided valuable observations and recommendations that would support the department’s progress toward achieving academic accreditation, praising the efforts made by the department’s leadership and faculty in developing the educational environment and improving the quality of education.

For its part, the Department of Biomedical Engineering affirmed its commitment to adopting all recommendations and working toward their implementation, in a way that strengthens its academic standing and achieves its goals of preparing distinguished engineering professionals who contribute to serving the community.
