The Department of Biomedical Engineering at the College of Engineering – Al-Nahrain University, under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Eyad Murad Tukhakh, organized a scientific and cultural visit to the Baghdad International Book Fair, held at the Baghdad International Fairgrounds in Al-Mansour, on Thursday, 18/9/2025, with the participation of several faculty members and students from the department.

This visit comes as part of the extracurricular activities and cultural programs that the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the College of Engineering – Al-Nahrain University is keen to organize.

The visit aimed to enhance the general cultural awareness of both faculty and students, and to encourage them to explore the latest scientific publications in the fields of biomedical engineering, biotechnology, and medical devices, as well as to broaden their exposure to diverse knowledge presented at the fair through the wide participation of local, Arab, and international publishing houses.

The participants toured the halls of the exhibition and stopped at several specialized pavilions, including those showcasing scientific, academic, and engineering books. They had the opportunity to review the latest publications and purchase some books that support both the theoretical and practical aspects of their field. They also attended a number of accompanying cultural events, which included lectures and specialized intellectual seminars.

The supervisors of the visit praised the students’ engagement and interest, stressing the importance of organizing such activities that contribute to developing research and self-learning skills, strengthening students’ connection to ever-evolving fields of knowledge, enriching their scientific and cultural capabilities, and fostering a comprehensive educational environment that combines academic learning with extracurricular activities.
