As part of the scientific and cultural activities of the Mechanical Engineering Department for the academic year 2024/2025, under the patronage of the respected Dean of the College of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Iyad Murad, and the direct supervision of the esteemed Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department, Prof. Dr. Aqeel Abdullah Mohammed, the department held the Seventh Alumni Gathering on Thursday, April 24, 2025, in the Al-Furat Hall at the Department of Architectural Engineering.

The event began with the playing of the national anthem and the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah in honor of our righteous martyrs. Then, the Head of the Department delivered a speech welcoming the attendees and provided a brief overview of the department's history from its establishment to the present day. This was followed by a remarkable speech by the respected Dean of the College, in which he praised the efforts of the department’s leadership and staff in elevating the academic level of the department across all fronts. He also commended the graduates of all years for securing employment for a large number of alumni and for initiating joint projects through the communication established during the six previous gatherings held by the department at different intervals.

Afterward, a documentary report was presented, featuring photos of the department’s graduates from previous years and the esteemed former heads of the department who successively undertook their assigned duties. Subsequently, some of the attending alumni, both men and women, delivered speeches and interventions sharing their professional experiences in their fields after graduation.

At the end of the gathering, the respected Head of the Department thanked the attendees for enduring the difficulties of travel and traffic to attend this event, wishing them continued success. This was followed by a group photo of the Head of the Department with the members of the preparatory committee for the gathering, alongside the attending graduates from previous years.
