The Department of Biomedical Engineering participated through the attendance of faculty members, Dr. Basma Abdul-Saheb Fehan, Dr. Mona Mustafa Kareem, and Assistant Lecturer Qais Ahmed Habbash, in the workshop titled "Tools for Combating Corruption in the Work Environment." The workshop was organized by the College of Engineering, University of Al-Nahrain, in collaboration with the Women Empowerment Unit in the College of Engineering. The event coincided with the accompanying activities for the International Anti-Corruption Day and took place at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 7, 2023, in the Tigris Hall.

The workshop covered the importance of general concepts related to administrative corruption in the work environment, the ethics of public service, the practice and negative effects of corruption, conflicts of interest, and efforts by supervisory authorities and the state to combat corruption. Assistant Professor Dr. Hadeel Saad Ahmed from the College of Political Science delivered a presentation. The event was attended by the honorable Dean of the College of Engineering, Professor Dr. Jumaa Salman Jiyad, department heads, and several faculty members and staff members of the college.
