A delegation from the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the College of Engineering - Al-Nahrain University, represented by the Department Head, Assistant Professor Dr. Aunas Qusay Hashem, Dr. Iman Ghadhban Khalil, Dr. Hassanein Ali Lafta, and Dr. Samar Ali Jaber, visited the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Dohuk on Thursday, October 30. The second, 2023, within the framework of visits to corresponding departments in Iraqi universities.

The delegation met with the Head of the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Dohuk, Prof. Yasser Ahmed Fadel, former department head, A.M.D. Saleh Mustafa Al-Atrushi, Head of the Bologna Process and Scientific Curriculum Development at the College of Engineering, University of Dohuk, Dr. Ismail Amin Ali and some of the department’s teachers. During this meeting, they reviewed the merits of the twinning experience with the German THM University and discussed the mechanism for creating a master’s study in biomedical engineering at the University of Dohuk, developing the curricula for preliminary studies, and how to benefit from the expertise and capabilities existing in the two departments. It was also discussed how to apply the Bologna process in primary studies and the possibility of applying it in postgraduate studies. Some of the department's scientific laboratories and classrooms were also reviewed.

The visit included a meeting with the Dean of the College of Engineering at the University of Dohuk, Prof. Dr. James Hasdohido, who welcomed that visit. During this meeting, the importance of strengthening the memorandum of understanding concluded between the two departments was emphasized through the continuation of joint academic and scientific cooperation between them.
