As part of the scientific and awareness-raising activities carried out by the Computer Engineering Department and to identify the most important basics of the operation of the Internet in Iraq and the challenges faced by the competent authorities in the field of communications

 On Tuesday, November 28, 2023, the department held a scientific symposium entitled

 (The Internet in Iraq - reality and challenges)

 Delivered by Dr. Buraq Abdel Qader Abdel Karim, Technical Advisor to the Minister of Communications

 The lecturer presented the basics of how the Internet works in Iraq and how it is managed by the Ministry of Communications and how to deal with companies equipped with the service.

 He also touched on the latest Internet technologies that have come into effect in Iraq, which are technical

 Fiber at the home HTTP

 The basics of its work and future plans to ensure the delivery of this service and stop the use of the Internet via Wi-Fi

 The lecturer reviewed the most important projects implemented and under implementation and the details of their work to serve the Iraqi citizen and deliver the Internet to him with the fastest, highest quality service and lowest cost.

 Many various scientific and technical inquiries and questions were posed to the lecturer by the audience, represented by a number of faculty members in the department and in the corresponding colleges, in addition to a number of directors of private telecommunications companies and Internet service providers.

 In conclusion, recommendations were presented to address the most important causes of Internet weakness and the most important solutions that the Ministry is trying to implement

 Finally, the head of the department honored the lecturer, thanking him for his cooperation with us and waiting for more useful lectures in the field of communications.
