Under the patronage of the University President, Professor Dr. Ali Abdulaziz Al-Shawi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Engineering, Professor Dr. Jumaa Salman Jiyad, and in the presence of the Head of the Department, Professor Dr. Musab Ayad Kassab, the Department of Civil Engineering organized on Sunday, November 26, 2023, in collaboration with the Department of Construction and Building Engineering Technologies at Al-Ailm City University, a workshop entitled "Insight On The Challenges of Utilizing Nondestructive Techniques in Characterizing Weak Rock Failure."

The workshop was presented by Dr. Hassan Ali Abbas and was attended by several faculty members of the department. The workshop covered topics related to the analysis and characterization of weak rock failure, and Dr. Hassan Ali Abbas briefly shared his academic experience in Malaysia. The scientific nature of the workshop was enhanced by presenting experiments conducted by both the workshop presenter and the attendees, along with the discussion of similar scientific case studies, resulting in the exchange of expertise among specialists in this field.
