Under the direct supervision of the Architectural Engineering Department's presidency, the department made a distinguished academic appearance by showcasing the outputs of its postgraduate (Master's) students, specifically the "Sustainable Development of Gaza Project." The presented projects garnered immense admiration and appreciation from the University President, Prof. Dr. Ali Al-Shawi, and his assistants, alongside high praise from the Dean of the College of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Ayad Murad.
This design studio and project serve as a message of positive solidarity and a serious academic contribution to the visions of post-war city reconstruction. Work on this academic endeavor continued throughout the second semester, representing the fruit of constructive cooperation with the Municipality of Gaza, under the direct supervision of the Master's design faculty:
• Prof. Dr. Shaymaa Hameed
• Prof. Dr. Mohammed Qasim
The project adopted an open methodology involving active communication with a select group of engineers, academics, and specialists both inside Gaza (Palestine) and abroad. At its core, the project aimed to provide urban solutions focused on saving human lives and preserving architectural and archaeological heritage, ultimately achieving the goals of sustainability and comprehensive urban sustainability across all vital sectors of the city.
