Students from the Department of Artificial Intelligence
and Robotics Engineering at the College of Engineering – Al-Nahrain University
participated in the “Spring of Al-Nahrain” Festival, held on Sunday, May 3,
2026. The event was attended by the University President, Prof. Dr. Ali
Abdulaziz Al-Shawi, the Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr.
Omar Farouq Abdul Rasheed, the Assistant President for Administrative Affairs,
Prof. Dr. Alaa Hussein Abd, and the Dean of the College of Engineering, Prof.
Dr. Iyad Murad Takhakh, along with several faculty members and a large number
of students. The department’s students demonstrated an active presence
in the festival’s accompanying bazaar, where they showcased a range of smart
and robotic student projects. These projects presented innovative practical
models in the fields of artificial intelligence, intelligent systems, and
robotics, reflecting the advanced academic level of the students and their
ability to transform engineering concepts into real-world applications that
serve various sectors. The event also included a visit by the Head of the
Department of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Engineering and the academic
staff to the students’ exhibition booth, where they reviewed the projects and
provided moral support and encouragement. This reflects the department’s
commitment to following up on student outputs and enhancing their participation
in scientific and university activities. The showcased projects received wide praise from attendees
and interested visitors due to their creative ideas and modern technical
solutions, highlighting the students’ skills in design, programming, and the
integration of various engineering disciplines. This participation aligns with the department’s ongoing
efforts to support student activities and highlight their scientific
achievements, contributing to the promotion of a culture of innovation and
practical work, and fostering an academic environment that encourages
creativity and excellence.
The “Spring of Al-Nahrain” Festival is considered one of
the university’s annual events aimed at showcasing students’ scientific,
cultural, and artistic achievements, while enhancing interaction
among the
university’s components within a supportive framework for innovation and
development.
