Students from Al-Nahrain University / College of Engineering – Department of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Engineering took part in the Data Science Forum and Hackathon organized by the College of Excellence at University of Baghdad in partnership with Al-Farabi University on Saturday, May 2, 2026. The event witnessed broad participation from Iraqi universities and is considered one of the most prominent specialized scientific events in the fields of data and artificial intelligence.

The department’s participation featured two student teams from the second stage, reflecting the students’ early interest in engaging in practical activities and competitive events that contribute to developing their scientific and practical skills in data analysis, artificial intelligence, and innovative technical solutions.

The event was attended by the Dean of the College of Engineering at Al-Nahrain University, Prof. Dr. Iyad Murad Tkhakh, in support and encouragement of the participating students, and to reinforce the university’s presence in national scientific forums. This highlights the college’s continuous commitment to nurturing student talents and empowering them to engage in competitive scientific experiences.

This participation aligns with Al-Nahrain University’s direction toward supporting applied scientific activities and promoting a culture of innovation and teamwork among students, in addition to providing opportunities for interaction with experts, academics, and participants from various Iraqi universities.

The Data Science Forum and Hackathon is regarded as an important scientific platform for exchanging expertise and refining technical skills, as well as encouraging students to develop data-driven solutions that address real-world challenges and serve the community, in line with digital transformation and the rapid advancements in modern technologies.
