Assistant Professor Dr. Shaimaa Safaa Al-Din Bahaa Al-Din participated as a member of the Master's thesis defense committee for the student Ola Khalil Abbas at the Department of Computer Network Engineering, College of Information Engineering, Al-Nahrain University. The thesis is entitled: The research addressed mechanisms for optimizing resource management in edge computing environments based on the Internet of Things (IoT), by employing the YOLO algorithm for intelligent detection and processing. This contributes to improving system performance, reducing latency, and minimizing resource consumption. The thesis was supervised by Professor Dr. Ammar Abdulmalik Abdulkarim, in collaboration with Professor Dr. Abdullah Hasanat from Al-Hussein Bin Talal University, Jordan.
This work aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) by leveraging artificial intelligence and edge computing technologies to enhance resource efficiency and improve the performance of smart systems, thereby supporting the development of advanced and sustainable digital infrastructures.
