A scientific seminar at the College of Engineering on developing women's skills towards effective participation in decision-making.

Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Engineering at Al-Nahrain University, Professor Dr.Ayad Murad Takhakh, and under the supervision of the Head of the Department of Electronic and Communications Engineering, Dr. Ali Abdul Rahman, and in cooperation with the Women's Affairs Unit and the University Psychological Counseling Unit at our college, a scientific seminar entitled: (Developing Women's Skills for Effective Participation in Decision-Making within Institutions) was held on Thursday, February 5, 2026. The seminar was attended by a number of faculty members, staff, and students, as part of the college's activities aimed at supporting and empowering women in society and institutions. The lecture was delivered by Ms. Sanaa Saeed from the Women's Affairs Unit, while Ms. Hind Muwaffaq coordinated and moderated the seminar. The seminar covered several important topics focusing on how to develop women's soft and hard skills, thereby contributing to enhancing their active participation in decision-making at the political, institutional, and societal levels, especially during times of crisis and conflict, given that women are a fundamental element and an active partner in building and developing society. The symposium emphasized that women complement men and that both play a pivotal role in supporting development and achieving societal balance by enhancing capabilities and expanding participation in influential and decision-making positions. In conclusion, the symposium stressed the importance of continuing to hold such purposeful events that contribute to raising societal awareness and strengthening the role of women within institutions, thus serving the development of Iraqi society.
