On the occasion of the International Day for Countering Violent Extremism, the Department of Electronic and Communications Engineering at Al-Nahrain University, in cooperation with the Women's Affairs Unit and the University Psychological Counseling Unit, held an awareness seminar for students entitled: (Rejecting Hatred and Spreading a Culture of Love and Tolerance Among Students) The seminar included an awareness lecture presented by the Head of the Department of Electronic and Communications Engineering, Dr. Ali Abdul Rahman, along with Ms. Sanaa Saeed Kadhim from the Women's Affairs Unit at the College of Engineering. The lecture highlighted the importance of confronting extremist ideologies and promoting the values of tolerance and peaceful coexistence within the university environment, as well as raising awareness of the impact of positive discourse in building a cohesive university community based on mutual respect. At the conclusion of the seminar, an evaluation survey was conducted to measure the extent to which students benefited from the seminar's themes and its impact on developing their awareness. The survey results showed very positive and satisfactory indicators, reflecting the students' interaction and keen interest in the presented content. This underscored the importance of holding such purposeful seminars to promote a culture of love and peace and reject hatred within the university community.
