The Head of the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Engineering at the College of Engineering, Al-Nahrain University, participated on Sunday, February 15, 2026, as a member of the committee for the defense of a master’s thesis entitled: “Design and Manufacturing of a Low-Cost Multi-Axis Prosthetic Foot,” held in an academic atmosphere characterized by organization, precision, and constructive scholarly dialogue.

The examination committee consisted of a distinguished group of professors, chaired by Prof. Dr. Mohsen Jabr Juweij, with membership of Prof. Dr. Iyad Murad Tkhakh and Asst. Prof. Dr. Fahd Muhannad Kadhim (member and supervisor). The session included numerous specialized questions and scientific remarks that reflected the high academic standard of the discussion.

The thesis focused on developing an innovative multi-axis prosthetic foot that simulates the natural motion of the ankle joint to enhance stability and comfort for amputees, relying on advanced mechanical solutions without the need for electrical systems. The researcher presented an integrated engineering design supported by experimental tests demonstrating the model’s efficiency in achieving balanced walking and a near-natural range of motion, in addition to its low production cost, making it a promising option for supporting the localization of medical technologies and reducing reliance on imported products.

The committee commended the scientific effort invested and the practical significance of the results achieved, praising the research value of the topic. After extensive academic deliberations, the committee decided to approve the thesis and award the researcher a grade of Excellent.

At the conclusion of the session, the committee chair and members extended their congratulations to the researcher on this distinguished academic achievement, wishing her continued success in her academic career and contributions to society.
