Assistant Professor Dr. Hasnain Ali Lafta, a faculty member in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, participated in the ministerial advisory committee meeting concerned with the development and review of academic curricula for the specialties of Biomedical Engineering and Prosthetics and Orthotics Engineering. The meeting was held on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at the Deanship of the College of Excellence, University of Baghdad. The meeting was chaired by the Head of the Committee, Professor Dr. Mohsen Abdullah Abdul Hussein from the College of Engineering, University of Baghdad, and was attended by Professor Dr. Ali Hussein Ali, Dean of the College of Excellence, University of Baghdad; Assistant Professor Saad Mahmoud Ali from the College of Biomedical Engineering, University of Technology; and Assistant Professor Dr. Amir Farid Barto from the College of Engineering, University of Babylon. During the meeting, the participants discussed updating the course curricula in alignment with modern academic standards and labor market requirements, as well as strengthening the practical and research components of the educational programs. These efforts aim to prepare engineering professionals capable of keeping pace with the rapid developments in the fields of medical devices and biotechnology. The committee emphasized the importance of unifying academic visions and exchanging expertise among educational institutions to ensure the advancement of the specialization and enhance the quality of its academic outcomes.
