A workshop on human rights was held at the Department of Computer Engineering – College of Engineering / Nahrain University, presented by Assist. Lecturer Mr. Saif Abdul-Jassim, as part of the department’s activities aimed at raising cultural awareness and promoting human values within the university community.

The workshop addressed the concept and importance of human rights, reviewing key international charters and agreements, and highlighting students’ rights and responsibilities within the university environment. It also emphasized the role of educational institutions in reinforcing principles of justice, equality, and respect for human dignity.

The workshop witnessed active participation from both faculty members and students, stressing the importance of integrating a human rights culture into academic life, which contributes to building a conscious and responsible generation capable of making positive contributions to society.

This workshop also aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, by promoting values of justice, equality, and respect for human rights within educational institutions and society.
