The Department of Biomedical Engineering at the College of Engineering / Al-Nahrain University conducted the Comprehensive Written Examination for postgraduate PhD students, as part of the approved academic requirements for fulfilling the conditions for obtaining the Doctoral degree.

The Comprehensive Examination Committee was chaired by Professor Dr. Nabeel Kazem Abdulsahib, with the participation of the Dean of the College of Engineering, Professor Dr. Ayad Murad Takhakh; Professor Dr. Ahmed Fakhri from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, College of Engineering, Al-Nahrain University; the Head of the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Professor Dr. Anas Qusay Hashim; Professor Dr. Abbas Fadhil Abdulwahab from the College of Medicine, Al-Nahrain University; Assistant Professor Dr. Sadiq Jaafar Abbas; Assistant Professor Dr. Hadeel Qasim Wadi; Assistant Professor Dr. Rana Ibrahim Mahmoud; Assistant Professor Dr. Hasaneen Ali Lafta; and Assistant Professor Dr. Aseel Mohammed Ali Hussein from the Department of Biomedical Engineering, College of Engineering, Al-Nahrain University.

During the examination, the students were presented with a set of advanced scientific questions aimed at assessing their academic and cognitive level, their mastery of fundamental and advanced concepts in the field of Biomedical Engineering, as well as their ability to analyze, infer, and integrate theoretical knowledge with practical and research applications. The committee also provided remarks and suggestions regarding the students’ research work.

The Comprehensive Examination represents a pivotal stage in the academic journey of postgraduate students, as it plays a vital role in consolidating scientific and research foundations and preparing students to transition to the research phase and the writing of the dissertation or thesis.

At the conclusion of the examination, the committee commended the students for their discipline and adherence to examination regulations, wishing them continued success and excellence in their academic careers.
