The Department of Chemical Engineering at the College of Engineering – Al-Nahrain University organized a workshop titled “Laboratory Safety and Security” for postgraduate students (preparatory and research stages of Master’s and Ph.D. programs) on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, in collaboration with Engineer Ahmed Hashem Saadoun from Ashar Company and Farha Center.

The workshop included awareness lectures on laboratory safety procedures, methods for handling chemicals and laboratory equipment, as well as discussions on preventive measures against potential accidents and the implementation of safety and security standards in research environments.

The event was attended by a number of faculty members and professors from the department, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Abbas Abdul Kareem Mahmood, Head of the Department, who emphasized the importance of promoting laboratory safety concepts and enhancing awareness of security practices among postgraduate students.
