As part of the scientific activities of the Department of Prosthetics and Orthotics Engineering, College of Engineering, Al-Nahrain University, and in collaboration with the Women's Affairs Unit and the Educational Guidance Unit, the department held an awareness seminar entitled “The Social and Economic Impact on Female Education.” The seminar was presented by Asst. The seminar discussed the significant role of education in enhancing the status of women within society, and how empowering females academically contributes to improving the economic level of families and the community. The presentation also addressed the social and economic challenges that may hinder girls’ continuation in higher education.

Furthermore, the seminar highlighted the importance of support from families and academic institutions in creating an encouraging environment for education and persistence, emphasizing how female education contributes to reducing poverty rates, raising health and social awareness, and increasing women’s active participation in the labor market.

At the end of the seminar, an open discussion was held with the audience, which enriched the session with valuable contributions and ideas that support the academic and social empowerment of women.
