As part of the Department of Prosthetics and Orthotics Engineering's scientific activities at the College of Engineering / Al-Nahrain University, the department organised a scientific visit for a group of its students and staff to the Scientific Care Directorate at the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

During the visit, the students were introduced to the laboratories and the technical capabilities available at the directorate, and how they can be utilized to support practical projects and scientific research related to prosthetics and orthotics.

The program included a presentation about:

• The Applied Research Laboratory provides an environment for testing and evaluating prototypes of mechanical components and supportive prosthetic parts.

• The 3D Printing and Manufacturing Unit, which enables the production of various components and models to support academic projects and graduation research.

• The Electrical and Control Laboratory, which offers training on control circuits and integrating electronic systems.

At the end of the tour, the students and staff were invited to make use of the directorate’s facilities in carrying out their practical projects and research.

The Head of the Department expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the directorate’s staff for their warm reception and cooperation.
