The Department of Architecture at Al-Nahrain University participated in the “Mi‘mar” Competition, launched by the Scientific Care Department at the Ministry of Youth and Sports. This competition represents the first pilot edition, dedicated to graduation projects of architecture students from universities across Iraq.
The competition aims to showcase students’ creativity in architectural design, achieve global standards in the field of architecture, and promote academic and scientific competitiveness among graduates.
The Department of Architecture nominated ten graduation projects for the academic year 2024/2025, of which three projects qualified for the final stage. These projects were submitted by the students: Majd Haitham Saeed, Aya Mohammed Hamid, and Taqa Majid Mahmoud. The activity was organized and supervised by Assistant Professor Dr. Omer Khalid Fayadh .
The department was also represented on the scientific judging committee by Dr. Banin Abdul Kareem Hussein, who evaluated the projects according to the pre-established competition criteria.
This achievement was accomplished with the support of the esteemed Dean of the College of Engineering and the respected Head of the Department of Architecture at Al-Nahrain University, who played an active role in encouraging students and providing a suitable academic environment for creativity and excellence.
The competition saw the participation of 50 projects from various public and private universities in Baghdad.
