Assistant Lecturer Issam Ibrahim Al-Kubaisi, a faculty member in the Department of Architecture at Al-Nahrain University, was invited to participate in the 2025 Busan Design Association (BDA) International Design Exhibition held in South Korea, which brought together some of the world’s most renowned designers.
His work, titled “The Serene Gate of Busan,” symbolizes the city as a peaceful window open to the sea and the world. The red arch represents Busan as a gateway, while the simple ship reflects its maritime activity. The temple and mountain in the background symbolize its historical and cultural identity. The design relies on clean lines and open spaces to create a sense of balance and tranquility, embodying the essence of the city in a silent, contemplative moment that merges the past and the present.
The exhibition was held at Busan Public Park, Dasom Gallery, and Camellia Hall in South Korea.
