Scientific Collaboration between Al-Nahrain University and the Tamayouz Award within the ‎First Arab Architecture Festival

As part of international academic collaboration and in support of partnerships between Iraqi ‎educational institutions and global architectural initiatives, Dr. Rasha Abdul Kareem Ali, faculty ‎member at the Department of Architecture – College of Engineering, Al-Nahrain University, ‎participated in the First Arab Architecture Festival, held in Baghdad under the patronage of His ‎Excellency the Prime Minister of the Republic of Iraq, Eng. Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani, and ‎hosted by the Prime Minister’s Office. The event was organized by the Tamayouz Excellence ‎Award in celebration of Baghdad being named the Arab Capital of Tourism for 2025.‎
Dr. Rasha Abdul Kareem participated as the Stakeholder Coordinator and one of the academic ‎Tutors in the Tamayouz Workshop 2025, titled “BAGHDAD Public Space :The Utility of Luxury.” ‎The workshop brought together architecture students from various Iraqi and Arab universities, ‎under the supervision of distinguished architects and academics from Iraqi, British, and Spanish ‎universities.‎
The workshop commenced online on September 1st, 2025, with a series of preparatory lectures, ‎and continued in person at the Iraqi Engineers Union – Headquarters from September 28th to ‎October 2nd, 2025.‎
This collaboration significantly contributed to enhancing academic exchange and fostering ‎scientific cooperation between Al-Nahrain University and the Tamayouz Award, serving as a ‎model of integration between theoretical education and practical experience. Through this ‎initiative, students engaged in a dynamic design environment that merged academic insight with ‎contemporary professional perspectives.‎
Such cooperation reflects the Department of Architecture at Al-Nahrain University’s ‎commitment to supporting leading architectural initiatives that advance architectural education ‎and highlight the role of Iraqi universities in the regional and international academic landscape.‎
