The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Engineering at the College of Engineering – Al-Nahrain University organized on Sunday, October 5, 2025, a workshop entitled “Digital Forensics and Its Relation to Information Security.”

The workshop was presented by Asst. Lect. Nawras Hussein Abdullah, who discussed the concepts of digital forensics and its role in collecting and analyzing electronic evidence to uncover cybercrimes and enhance information security.
The session also covered the main tools and techniques used in digital evidence analysis, such as network, mobile device, and memory forensics, while reviewing the stages of the digital forensic process and practical case studies — most notably the BTK Killer case, which was solved through digital data analysis.
The workshop aimed to raise awareness about the importance of digital forensics in protecting information systems and ensuring data integrity. The event witnessed distinguished academic attendance and engaging interactions, reflecting the importance of the topic and its relevance to information security.
