The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics
Engineering at the College of Engineering – Al-Nahrain University organized on Sunday,
October 5, 2025, a workshop entitled “Digital Forensics and Its Relation
to Information Security.”
The workshop was presented by Asst. Lect. Nawras
Hussein Abdullah, who discussed the concepts of digital forensics and its
role in collecting and analyzing electronic evidence to uncover cybercrimes and
enhance information security.
The session also covered the main tools and techniques used in digital evidence
analysis, such as network, mobile device, and memory forensics, while reviewing
the stages of the digital forensic process and practical case studies — most
notably the BTK Killer case, which was solved through digital data
analysis.
The workshop aimed to raise awareness about the importance of digital forensics
in protecting information systems and ensuring data integrity. The event
witnessed distinguished academic attendance and engaging interactions,
reflecting the importance of the topic and its relevance to information
security.
