In the framework of strengthening the integration of theoretical knowledge and field applications, the Department of Architecture of Nahrin University, sponsored by the Faculty of Engineering, and direct supervision from the Chairperson of the Department, organized a field scientific visit to the students of the second semester, as part of the requirements of architectural design for the first semester, especially for the Sustainable Design Project of a residential building in the area Al-Gadriya.

The visit aimed to analyze the site from the urban, environmental and social aspects, documenting its spatial and urban characteristics, in terms of building patterns, urban textures, general spaces, wind directions and natural lighting, as well as identifying elements of strength and weakness in the general urban context.
Goals of the visit:
1. Connecting theoretical concepts with practical application.
2. Developing site analysis skills of students.
3. Strengthening the concept of sustainability in architectural design.
4. Preparing the student to lay out realistic design insights that are responsive to the local context and user needs.
This visit is an important part of the education process, as it contributes to building students’ capacities and enabling them to understand the urban and spatial reality of the site, as a prerequisite for employing their impartial to develop sustainable designs that keep up with contemporary architectural trends.
