Assistant Lecturer Abdulmohaymin Bassim Qassim,
a faculty member in the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics
Engineering, has published— in collaboration with Prof. Dr. Wajdi Sadiq Aboud
and Assistant Lecturer Shaimaa Mudhafar Hashim, both from the same department—
a research paper entitled: “Design and Implementation of a Cascade Control System
for a
Variable Air Volume in Operating Rooms Based on Pressure and Temperature Feedback” In Journal “Sensors” https://doi.org/10.3390/s25185656 Published in “MDPI,
Grosspeteranlage 5, 4052 Basel, Switzerland” Cite Score: 8.2 Impact Factor: 3.5 This research is
considered one of the practical applied studies, as a Building Management
System (BMS) was utilized. The aim of this work is to maintain the pressure and
temperature inside the operating room (surgical suite) in accordance with the
mechanical design requirements, ensuring that the pressure inside the operating
room is higher than that in the external corridors, and that the temperature
ranges between 18°C and 22°C, as specified by the ASHRAE 170-2017 standard. The
implementation of this work was carried out at the Iraqi Korean Intensive Care
Hospital, located within the Medical City Complex in Baghdad.
