A visit by a ministerial committee to introduce a higher diploma study in the specialty of drones

The ministerial committee assigned by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research visited the College of Engineering / Al-Nahrain University, in order to review the material and human capabilities, with a view to developing a higher diploma study in the specialty of drones, in the Department of Electronic and Communications Engineering.

This move comes from the standpoint of the development of science and technology in all universities, in response to the requirements of the labor market, and in support of the state’s departments, in order to provide the best community services, support our heroic forces in the Ministries of Defense and Interior, and to preserve a healthy environment free of pollution.

The development file was prepared by a number of qualified college professors with precise specializations that are interested in this study, and the necessary approvals were obtained from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

The competent ministerial committee was received by Professor Dr. Naseer Abboud Al-Haboubi, Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Ahmed Fakhri, Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Sabry, Head of the Department of Electronic and Communications Engineering, Professor Dr. Aqeel Abdullah, Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department, and Professor Dr. Wajdi Sadiq Abboud, Head of the Engineering Department. Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, and Dr. Atheel Nofal, Head of the Computer Engineering Department.

In light of these preparations, the Ministerial Committee made a field visit to the laboratories of the Department of Electronic and Communications Engineering, and was informed of the department’s financial and human capabilities, and the availability of the conditions stipulated in the instructions for establishing graduate studies. It also met with the teaching staff, and was informed of the availability of modern scientific resources in the college library.

At the conclusion of the visit, the Ministerial Committee expressed its satisfaction and positive impression regarding the exceptional efforts made by the Deanship of the College of Engineering and its cadres in preparing and establishing halls and laboratories and equipping them with modern technology, noting that the development period takes one year.
