Master's student Muntadhar Saleh Mahdi was discussed about his tagged thesis: Design and Testing of Mechanical and Biological Above Knee Prosthesis Osseoitegration Implant. On Sunday, 1 /9 /2024, where the discussion committee was composed of distinguished professors: 1. Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Rashid Ismail Chairman 2. Prof. Dr. Kadhim Kamel Rasan Member 3. Assistant Professor Dr. Fahad Muhannad Kazim, Member 4. Assistant Professor Dr. Dunia Abdel Saheb Hashem, member and supervisor The research has been concerned with the study, analysis and development of implantation of an amputee prosthesis above the knee, specifically the system (distal weight-bearing implant), which is the latest system of implantation systems and is characterized by the ability of the amputee above the knee to choose between the traditional socket with the advantage of suspension of the amputee during the knee as well as allow the amputee to connect the prosthesis directly to his skeleton through an uncomplicated surgery. The research involved the development of the design of this implant with the application of an innovative nanocoating, which greatly accelerated the process of bone fusion than without the innovative coating. 5 research papers were extracted from this thesis and published in the Scopus container as well as at the level of international and local journals with the official submission of 2 patent applications to the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control.
