Master’s
student Sarah Duraid Daoud was discussed for her thesis titled: Prosthetics
socket fabrication based on computer vision of polyhedron representation On
Tuesday, August 27, by the committee formed by distinguished professors: 1.
Professor Dr. Wajdi Sadiq Abboud, Chairman 2.
Professor Dr. Basem Ajeel Abbas, member 3.
Assistant Professor Dr. Fahd Muhannad Kazim, member 4.
Professor Dr. Ahmed Abdel Samie Al-Droubi, supervisor 5.
Professor Dr. Abdul Qadir Ali Abdul Qadir Qaddo, supervisor. The
research was concerned with using image processing technology to determine the
dimensions of the prosthetic limb required for the case study and manufacturing
it using 3D printer technology to achieve the best size for the amputated part
and achieve the lowest possible cost for the limb to be available to people of
determination. Thus, it is considered to provide a very great humanitarian
service to that class of the local community.
