Dr.
Dunia Abdul Sahib Hashim, an associate professor in the Department of P&O
Engineering, visited the Biomechanics Laboratories at the College of Biomedical
Sciences, University of Al-Nahrain. This visit was conducted as part of
fulfilling the requirements of the "bone implants" course, where
specialized devices and equipment used in this field were examined.
During the visit, a variety of devices and equipment were
explored, including the AMTI Force 5 hip spine simulator, which is used to
assess the biomechanical performance of hip joints and the spine. Additionally,
the Force plate and Ortho poo device, used for measuring forces affecting bone
structures and joints, were examined.
The visit was distinguished by a comprehensive
explanation provided by Dr. Basma Abdul Sahib, the laboratory manager, on how
these devices and equipment are used in applied studies aimed at developing and
improving bone implantation and industrial support design.
Dr. Dunia Abdul Sahib Hashim expressed her
gratitude for the efforts made by the research team at the Biomechanics
Laboratory, emphasizing the importance of these scientific visits in enhancing
research collaboration and developing the technologies used in the field of
p&O engineering.
