Objective: To obtain apposition as Accomplished process engineer with significant experience in the ammonia industry as operation and calculations of heat and material balances of the ammonia converter and controlling N2/H2 ratio in synthesis loop with capacity 1000 tons NH3/ D , and also common salt plant which produce 10 T/D of 99.9% NaCl by using 3 stages of evaporators under vacuum , and petroleum refinery ( Baiji –Iraq ) ( distillation unit ) which refines 70,000 BPD of the treated crude oil and produces different cuts of light straight run and wild naphtha , gasoline, kerosene, gasoil and RCR ,study and checking piping and Instrument drawings of the wet crude oil in Kirkuk oil fields at NOC ( Iraq ) which has many facilities for treating , the capacity of one of these units is designed to dehydrate and desalt 105,000 BPD of stock tank equivalent crude as well as the associated produced water. water treatment of the beverage industry and Boilers and controlling the additives of chemicals to the water, In addition to using liquid Chromatography with alumina and silica gel as fixed bed in separation sulfur compounds from bitumen and use X-Ray diffraction In determination the types of the sulfur compounds , Also using analyzers for determination the composition of the natural gas and crude oil by gas chromatography ( GC ), atomic absorption ( AA ) , and also crude oil evaluation , total organic compounds in the water.
Experience:
Dec. – 25/2005: lecturer in chemical Eng, at AL-Nahrain university Baghdad,
Still in university.
Aug. -04 – Dec.05 , Senior Process Engineer in Parsons Iraq Joint Venture ( PIJV ) study and checking P&IDs and developing the design and operation the trains of wet crude oil treatment of Bai Hassan South and North , Baba , Jambur,SaraLu , Jabalbur and NW Avanah DS , That are located at ( NOC ) ( North Oil Company ) in Kirkuk-Iraq ,which included gas separation stations, each train designed to treat 35,000 BPD of wet crude oil and each plant has three trains for treatment ( dehydration and desalting ) , this big project costed many hundreds of millions US $ , The plant consists of the following areas: Inlet facilities,Crude Dehydration and Desalting Trains,Produced Water Treatment and Injection,Off-Spec Oil Facilities,Wash Water Facilities, Flare System,Chemical Injection System,Instrument Air System,Fuel Gas System,Control and Electrical Facilities .
Nov. -02 – Jan. -03 production manager of Ammrah salt plant in Amman-Jordan ,This plant consists of one evaporator under vacuum( applied by steam ejector ) The crude salt Dissolved in water in dissolving station to make saturated brine , then preheated by plate heat exchanger before entering the evaporator , the capacity of this plant 0.6T/D. Adding KIO3 to the produced salt as table salt .
Jun. -1999 – Apr. -02 production manager of dijlah soft drinks – Baghdad, the design capacity of this small factory is 2000 cases of glass battles per batch ( 12 hours ) , the factory consists of battles washer, filler, and the tri-mixer which mixes the syrup with treated water and carbon dioxide gas ( food grade ) at temperature ~ 10 degrees centigrades , using glycol as refrigeration media to cool the water and syrup by plate exchanger .
Feb. -1998 – Oct. -1998 production manager of shahrazad salt plant .It is mechanical method for salt production, which use mill for grinding the crude salt and then wash the salt by the brine in two stages tank with mixing and over flowing dirty brine to the brine station, while the slurry goes to the centrifuge separator to separate the crystals from liquid phase, and after that drying by rotary furnace using hot air for drying and after that packing the salt either by 0.75 kg bags or 25kg bags .The capacity of the plant 1.6T/hr.
Apr. -1992 – Feb.– 1998 production manager of Al mansour salt plant . in this plant we use crude salt with purity ~98% NaCl and dissolved in huge dissolving station to make saturated brine with density 1.2 g/ml pumped to three big evaporators ( under vacuum,-0.9,-0.7,-0.5bar ) using both vacuum pump and steam ejector to achieve the vacuum pressure then the slurry pumped to the centrifuge to separate the crystal from the slurry, and drying the crystals by vibrator dryer, adding potassium iodate ( KIO3 ) to produce table salt or sometimes without ( KIO3 ) for industrial salt and after that packing in 1kg bag for table salt or in 50kg bag for industrial salt, the capacity of this plant is 10T/D with purity 99.9%NaCl.and also Developing mechanical method to produce table salt instead of dilution in water and recrystalization to minimize the cost of production with purity ~98%NaCl
Jun. -1987 – Apr. – 1992 shift engineer in ammonia section in Baiji fertilizer plant,This plant applied by MW Kellogg in 1988 in Baiji-Iraq ( it costs about 80 millions $ ) with capacity 1000T/D of liquid ammonia and side product of CO2 gas which is going to urea plant, the plant receives the natural gas ( NG ) from jambur gas field in Kirkuk, the raw materials are NG and 40 bar steam entering the primary reformer at high temperature ( 1002 Cْ ),the reformer contains 256 tubes filled with catalyst, the outlet composition is H2 mainly and methane and other gases. At secondary reformer introducing air into current gas mixture, which resulting CO,CO2 and nitrogen, after that the main stream going to the benfield solution system to absorb CO2 from the main stream, while CO2 gas goes to the urea plant ,the main stream goes to the synthesis compressor( drived by steam turbine using high pressure steam 103 bar ) and compressed to the ammonia converter at pressure 140 bar,at this stage we should keep ratio N2/H2 equal to 1/3 to achieve that, making vent to atmosphere to reject the inert gases such as Argon, oxygen…etc and also use refrigeration to cool down the produced ammonia as liquid ( using ammonia in the refrigeration and steam turbine compressor for compression the refrigerant ammonia ),the produced ammonia goes to urea plant or to the storage tank(3000tons capacity) .
Jul. – 1986 – Jun. -1987 shift engineer in fiberboard plant in Najaf – Iraq . in this process use the date palm leaves or cane(reeds) as raw material to produce fibre, the first stage is cutting the raw material into small pieces ( chips ) and grinding by mills with low pressure steam, the produced paste going to thickner and to the dryer , then to the compressor with heating , that produces ~60 pieces of the fibre boards per hour each piece with 1m( width ) and 5m( length ) .
Jun. – 1985 – Jun. – 1986 shift engineer in distillation unit in Baiji refinery – Iraq . this refinery is one of the three main refineries, the capacity of this refinery is designed to refine 70,000 BPD of the crude oil , the crude oil received in storage tanks and pumped to the main distillation tower through many heat exchangers and preheated before entering the main distillation tower , the outlet of the distillation are light straight run ( LSR )
Wild naphtha, gasoline, kerosene , light gasoil, heavy gasoil and in the bottom reduced crude oil ( RCR ) . these cuts redistilled again after the hydrogenation of the gas oil which occurs in hydrogenation unit, while ( LSR ) goes to liquid petroleum gas unit ( LPG ) .
