Civil Engineering Department holds a scientific symposium on the ability of environmental systems in Iraq to withstand climate changes

Under the auspices of the President of Al-Nahrain University, Prof. Dr. Ali Abdel Aziz Al-Shawi, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Bassem Obaid Hassan, the Department of Civil Engineering held on Sunday 01/15/2023 a scientific symposium entitled "The ability of environmental systems in Iraq to withstand climate changes."

The symposium included four lectures presented by a number of academics and experts in the field of water resources and the environmental engineering, where Dr. Sadiq Al-Maliki - Prime Minister office participated in a presentation entitled "Integration of Remote Sensing and Field Data for Monitoring the Environmental Impact of Wetlands Restoration, Case Study: Al-Hammar Marshland, Southern Iraq"

The second lecture was entitled "Hydrological characteristics of the Tigers River at the Baghdad Sarai station", which was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Haitham Alaa Hussein / Al-Nahrain University / College of Engineering / Department of Civil Engineering.

It was followed by two lectures in which each of Prof. Dr. Muzahim Abdul Karim Alwan/University of Technology/Department of Civil Engineering/Geomatics Engineering Branch and dr. Fouad Hussein Saeed / Ministry of Water Resources / General Authority for Operation and Maintenance of the Euphrates Basin
