Patent Granted to Faculty Members from the Department of Chemical Engineering, College of Engineering Al-Nahrain University

A number of faculty members from the Department of Chemical Engineering at the College of Engineering Al-Nahrain University have been awarded a patent by the Ministry of Planning / Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control. The patent recognizes their innovation entitled:

“Synthesis of Novel (ZIF-67/Bi₂₅FeO₄₀) Hybrids Activated by Visible Light for the Treatment of Antibiotic-Contaminated Water.”

The research team includes:

The patent was granted under No. (8490) on 05/02/2026, following the completion of all required scientific and legal procedures for registration.

This innovation aims to develop advanced hybrid materials activated by visible light for the treatment of water contaminated with antibiotics, contributing to the reduction of pharmaceutical pollutants in aquatic environments and enhancing the efficiency of environmental treatment technologies.
