As part of the scientific and academic cooperation between Iraqi universities, Prof. Dr. Dhurgham Kamal Naji, faculty member at the Department of Electronics and Communications Engineering, Al-Nahrain University, participated as a member of the examination committee for the Master’s thesis of Saja Aziz Shalal from the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Baghdad. Her thesis was entitled:

“Design and Implement a Mini Radar System for Drone Detection.”

The defense took place on Monday, August 25, 2025, in Prof. Dr. Nizar Khalil Wafi Hall, Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Baghdad, before the following committee:

• Prof. Dr. Mohammed Nadhim Abbas – Department of Electrical Engineering / University of Baghdad – Chairman

• Prof. Dr. Dhurgham Kamal Naji – Department of Electronics and Communications Engineering / Al-Nahrain University – Member

• Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ghassan Nihad Jawad – Department of Electronics and Communications Engineering / University of Baghdad – Member

• Asst. Prof. Dr. Murtadha Jawad Kazem – Department of Electrical Engineering / University of Baghdad – Member and Supervisor

The session witnessed an outstanding scientific presentation by the student, who responded effectively to the committee’s questions and demonstrated broad knowledge of her research topic. At the conclusion of the defense, the committee recommended awarding her the Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
