Assistant Professor Dr. (Farhan Ahmed Khammas) from the Department of Drone
Engineering/College of Engineering/Al-Nahrain University participated in the
discussion committee for the master’s student (Hakam Waadullah Shehab)
from the Department of Mechanical Engineering/College of Engineering/University
of Mosul on Thursday, 1/30/2025. For his thesis titled:
“Integration of aerodynamic analysis and stress
modeling for aircraft wing design with a sequential approach to improve
performance”
The mission aimed to design a training aircraft wing
that achieves an ideal balance between aerodynamic efficiency and structural durability.
The study analyzed the air flow around the wing to determine the main
aerodynamic forces, selected the optimal airfoil and improved the distribution
of the aerodynamic load along the wing, in addition to a clear analysis between
aerodynamic efficiency and structural capacity, with the design being
compatible with the necessary technical requirements, which contributes to enhancing
the efficiency of the wing. The plane and its safety. Stresses resulting from
acting forces, design and study of wing components using specialized software,
while comparing sections of different shapes of the wing structure to ensure
optimal performance. The results showed that a balance was achieved The
discussion committee was chaired by Assistant Professor Dr. (Abdul Haq Abdul
Qader Hamed) and participated in its membership: Assistant Professor Dr. (Farhan
Ahmed Khammas) from Al-Nahrain University/College of Engineering, Assistant
Professor Dr. (Taha Ahmed Abdullah) and Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad
(Saleh Muhammad Nayef) )/first supervisor, and Assistant Professor Dr. (Mohamed
Naguib Abdullah)/second supervisor The study confirmed the importance of
integration between aerodynamic analysis and structural modeling in the design
of aircraft wings, which contributes to improving their performance and
efficiency
