Under the supervision and presence of Professor Dr. Jumaa Salman Jiyad, Dean of the College of Engineering at Al-Nahrain University, and in celebration of the International Day of the Arabic Language, the Department of Electronic and Communications Engineering, in cooperation with the Guidance and Educational Counseling unit, and the Women's Affairs Unit in the college, has organized an educational seminar entitled:

"The Common Origins Between the Akkadian and Arabic Languages: Lexical and Grammatical Aspects"

The seminar was presented by Professor Dr. Nawal Ahmed Al-Mutawalli on Monday, December 16, 2024, in the Dajla Hall at the college.

The seminar highlighted the common features between the Akkadian and Arabic languages, including sentence structure, foundational grammatical roots, and common morphological affixes. It also shed light on how the Akkadian language directly influenced the languages of ancient civilizations, as it was considered the diplomatic language of the era.

The event was attended by a group of faculty members, staff, and students of the college. The seminar also featured discussions from the audience and poetic recitations by students from the Artificial Intelligence Engineering Department: Saleh Ayman and Mohammed Jassim.

At the end of the seminar, Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Sabri, Head of the Department of Electronic and Communications Engineering, presented a letter of acknowledgement and appreciation to Professor Dr. Nawal Ahmed Al-Mutawalli.
