Under the patronage of the President of Al-Nahrain University (the esteemed Prof. Dr. Ali Abdulaziz Al-Shawi) and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Engineering (the esteemed Prof. Dr. Juma Salman Jiyad), the Department of Electronic and Communications Engineering held a workshop titled

Green Building - Problems and Solutions

The workshop aimed to increase awareness about sustainable practices and technologies in the construction and architecture industry. The workshop addressed the following topics:

The first axis: the experience of the Ministry of Construction, Housing, Municipalities and Public Works/Projects Department.

He gave the lecture

Chief Engineer Shaima Mahmoud Al-Attiya / Responsible of the Housing Policy Division in the Housing Policy and Policy Department.

  The second axis: The impact of green urbanization in preparing the urban design code.

The lecture was given by:

Engineer Fatima Ahmed Abdel Khaleq / Director of the Studies and Research Department

Architect Nabil Jaafar Odeh / Baghdad Municipality / Department of Planning and Follow-up

  The third axis: smart sustainable buildings

The lecture was given by:

Dr.. Mohsen Jabbar Odeh, engineer Ghufran Sabbar, engineer Zainab Hadi / Baghdad Municipality / Design Department

Fourth axis: Resource management in smart buildings

The workshop was attended by a number of faculty members in the department and from the rest of the college’s departments. During the workshop, questions and interventions were exchanged between the attendees and the lecturers, which resulted in the exchange of expertise of specialists in this field.
