The fifth gathering for graduates of the Chemical Engineering Department at the College of Engineering was sponsored and attended by Professor Dr. Juma Salman Jiyad, Dean of the College of Engineering at Al-Nahrain University. The event was organized by the Chemical Engineering Department under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Abbas Abdul Karim, head of the department, and attended by the faculty members and a group of graduates and students.

Dean Dr Jiyad emphasized in his opening speech the college's commitment to establishing communication channels with state institutions to support the Chemical Engineering department due to its importance and the need in various sectors. He also outlined the objectives of the gathering, which included updating graduates on developments in the field, the necessity of networking with public and private sector companies to secure job opportunities for graduates, and organizing workshops in collaboration with external entities with mutual interests. Assistant Professor Dr. Abbas Abdul Karim, in his speech, praised the faculty members for their commendable efforts, as well as the graduates for their achievements in the job market. During the event, Professor Dr. Basim Hassan Obaid, a faculty member, highlighted the department's role in enriching various sectors with scientific expertise. Additionally, several graduates shared their successful professional experiences. These included:

  • Assistant Professor Dr. Farqad Talib Najm, Director of Quality Assurance and University Performance at the Iraqi University.
  • Dr. Reem Abdul Hakim, a faculty member at Salahaddin University.
  • Lecturer Dina Rahim Rizij, a faculty member at the Middle Technical University.
  • Engineer Safa Kadhim Kubba from the National Monitoring Authority.

The gathering concluded with the department head presenting letters of appreciation to the graduates, followed by a group photo.
