Under the patronage and attendance of Dr. Juma Salman Jiyad, the Dean of the College of Engineering at the University of Al-Nahrain, the Biomedical Engineering Department organized the first alumni meeting. The event was supervised by Assistant Professor Dr. Anas Qusay Hashem, the head of the department, and attended by faculty members and students.

In his opening speech, the dean emphasized the college's commitment to establishing channels of communication with state institutions to support the importance of the Biomedical Engineering Department, especially given its relevance to various sectors, particularly the Ministry of Health.

The objectives of the meeting were outlined, including keeping graduates updated on developments in the field, fostering communication with public and private sector companies to provide job opportunities for graduates, and organizing workshops by the college.

The department head commended the graduates for their exceptional experiences and achievements in the job market, noting that the department has established a database for its outputs.

Several successful alumni shared their experiences during the meeting. The first intervention was made by Engineer Amna Wael Al-Samarrai, who earned her master's degree in Biomedical Engineering in 2010 and has been working in the private sector since 2011. The second experience was shared by Engineer Sarah Mohammed Hassan, who graduated with a bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering in 2007, and currently works as the head of the Anesthesia and Cardiac Unit at the Ministry of Health's Technical Affairs Department. They briefly spoke about their successful professional journeys.

At the end of the meeting, the department head presented certificates of appreciation to the alumni.
