The vision of the Department
of Computer Engineering, College of Engineering, Al-Nahrain University is to
emerge as a beacon of innovation and leadership in higher education, both
nationally and globally. To envision a future where the department stands at
the forefront of transformative advancements in computer engineering, driving
progress and shaping the technological landscape of Iraq. Through a commitment
to excellence in education, research, and community engagement, the aim is to
create a vibrant and collaborative environment that inspires creativity,
fosters critical thinking, and promotes ethical practices. The overarching goal
is to achieve eminence in computer engineering science and technology transfer,
contributing significantly to the advancement of Iraq. Aspire to establish ourselves as pioneers, dedicated to
harnessing the power of education for the betterment of our nation and beyond.

The department's focus is on inspiring creativity, instilling critical thinking skills, and promoting ethical practices. By doing so, the graduates will be prepared not only to meet the challenges of a rapidly evolving technological landscape but also to lead and drive transformative advancements that positively impact Iraq's technological trajectory.
Objectives of the Computer Engineering Department
The Computer Engineering program aims to equip graduates with ability to design, develop, and maintain computer systems by integrating hardware and software, focusing on areas such as embedded systems, circuit design, software development, operating systems, and information systems. This includes designing hardware components such as microprocessors, developing and debugging software, system integration, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, and Python is essential, along with experience
VLSI design and network protocols. Computer Engineering is considered one of the most comprehensive and versatile engineering professions.
Furthermore, the students will be
able to apply for postgraduate education in department or any other similar fields .
