Department Vision

Laser Engineering and Optoelectronics research and education. Our mission is to
produce highly qualified graduates prepared to excel in the labor market or
pursue advanced postgraduate studies. We are committed to advancing the field
through cutting-edge research and innovation, while ensuring tangible career
opportunities for our graduates by fostering direct engagement with diverse
industrial sectors and enhancing their professional skills through specialized
technical workshops."
Department Mission
"The Department of Laser and Optoelectronics Engineering seeks
to prepare qualified engineers and researchers equipped with advanced technical
knowledge, research expertise, and high ethical and professional values. We
strive to provide a stimulating educational and research environment that
integrates theory with practice, fostering innovation and building strategic
partnerships with the industrial and social sectors. Our goal is to meet labor
market demands and contribute effectively to solving contemporary technical
challenges."
Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)
i. PEO-1: To provide students with a strong foundation in the basics of optics, lasers, and
optoelectronics.
ii. PEO-2: To impart advanced knowledge in the design, fabrication, and application of laser
and optoelectronic devices and systems.
iii. PEO-3: To provide students with advance mathematical analysis, computational thinking
and engineering ideas, such as design theory, experimental techniques and production, to
solve practical problems associated with design and maintenance of laser systems.
iv. PEO-4: Use effective communication skills and participate in multi-disciplinary
partnerships to demonstrate professional progress and leadership and demonstrate an
appreciation and use of modern technological capabilities and to foster collaborative effort
among co-workers and other institutions.
v. PEO-5: To prepare qualified graduates for graduate studies in laser and optoelectronics
engineering and related fields by providing a strong academic foundation and research
skills, while fostering lifelong learning, innovation, and active engagement in high-quality
scientific research.
vi. PEO-6: To prepare graduates to effectively contribute to the national and regional
workforce through innovation, research, entrepreneurship, and interdisciplinary
collaboration in laser and optoelectronics fields.
vii. PEO-7: To foster interdisciplinary collaboration among undergraduate and graduate
students, faculty, and industry professionals to support lifelong learning, advance high-
quality research, and drive innovation in laser and optoelectronics technologies in
alignment with societal and industrial needs.
